Information cards will include: • Portion size • Calorie and sodium content • Cook’s name • Price The 3 classifications of foods: RED: Entrees greater than 750 calories or >40% calories from fat. Sides greater than 350 calories or >40% calories from fat. AMBER: Entrees >550 calories or 31-40% calories from fat. Sides greater than 225 calories and 31-40% calories from fat. GREEN: Entrees less than 550 calories and 30% or less calories from fat. Sides less than 225 calories and 30% or less calories from fat. Entrée Example: Fried Chicken: RED Baked Chicken: AMBER Skinless Chicken: GREEN Beverage Example: Chocolate Milk: RED 2% Milk: AMBER Skim Milk: GREEN Side Example: French Fries: RED Potatoes Au Gratin: AMBER Roasted Potatoes: GREEN Good tools for Managers to inform Soldiers/Diners on nutritional information.
