Due to the success of the 2010 event they want to make it bigger for 2011! It is going to be a blast. My goal this year is to allow access for a larger group of people, bring in more media and raise more money for the charity.

List of what I need from team captains:

1: Coca-Cola is planning to give each contestant a gift card from Coca-Cola for $200 as a reward for your selection as a team member of the event and just like last year MillitaryChefs.com will be certifying each contestant with a MilitaryChef Certification so, if you haven’t already, please finalize your teams please get me their names, bios and a pic. There will be 6 members per team with no runners this year.

2. Team captains will be receiving 25lbs to 50lbs of chocolate tallow and a carving kit shortly. Tallow will be produced before the event and carvings will be displayed on your buffet. Your sculpture will NOT be auctioned off for this charity. You will keep your sculpture this year. We will still be auctioning off chefs coats and other items to support the Charity. Please send me the address where you would like the tallow.

3: I need you to go to Rosseto web page and send me your request for Liteware. Please order 100 for each of your 6 products. Please get this to me as soon as possible so I may place the order. http://www.rosseto.com/Gallery/?g=75 Check out what they did with the liteware last year here http://www.flickr.com/photos/5...s/72157625186575420/

4. New Chef is providing Chefs Coats again this year and needs the names of your team members so.. once again let’s confirm the teams and get the names to me so I can place this order.

5. We need your invites as soon as possible. You may think you don’t want to invite anyone now but once this event will be much bigger than it was last year you will be begging me for more invites. As of now contestants can invite an unlimited amount of guests this year. Coca-Cola will send invites to the people you list.

6. I also need your Coca-Cola drink recipes. Examples Here http://www.militarychefs.com/1...llenge2009Punch.html

There will be 5 Belts being awarded in 5 categories:
1 - Military Chef Challenge Winner ACF W: Overall winner of the Competition (ACF Judges)
2 - People’s Choice Award: The Guests Favorite Team (Event Guests Judge)
3 - Kansas City BBQ Award: Kansas City BBQ Judge's Choice (Kansas City Judge)
4 - Best BBQ Sauce: Judges pick (All Judges)
5 - The Michael Angelo: Best display of tallow, ice and buffet presentation (Pastry Chef Judge)
Teams can also win ACF Medals in Ice Carving, Tallow Sculptures and Wild Card Categories.
On Saturday 17th of September gift cards for $1,500 will be issued to team Captains. Refrigerator trucks will be open at 5:00 on Saturday morning. Your meats will be already purchased to include enough for over 100 bite size portions of baby back ribs, beef brisket, pork shoulder and whole chickens.

No food can be prepared before the day of the event. Everything will be prepared on site.

5 rental vans will be present at Saturday morning at Bolling for transportation of stores . The vans will be available all day Saturday. Your common pantry is the Bolling commissary. Call them in advance if you need something special ordered.

Teams will be required to carve an ice carving on the day of the event. All tools will be provided. Each team will have 3 hours to complete their carving. Ice carving schedule will be as follows: 0700-1000 Coast Guard ---- Air Force/Marines 1000–1300 ---- Army and Navy 1300–1600

What your team is responsible for:

Team Buffet ACF W Category: One Pulled Pork Dish, One Beef Brisket Dish, One Chicken Dish, One Rib Dish, One Fish Dish, One Dessert and One Drink Made from Coca-Cola product.

2011 BBQ Challenge is going to be AWESOME!!!!! Some of the top chefs in the military will be there. US Navy has won 2 years in a row!! We plan to bring the heat again and make this the biggest and baddest performance to date. I have competed with and against many of the other branches team members and become friends over time. Im looking forward to meeting all of you on the battlefield once again.
