Top Chef is looking for a military chef for season 5. This is not your typical request for potential canidates. They are very serious about choosing a military chef and asked me to post the following along with the video tape application. NEW YORK – April 21, 2008 – As previously announced, Bravo's Emmy-nominated hit creative competition series "Top Chef" will be returning for a fifth season.

Bravo's "Top Chef" offers a fascinating window into the competitive, pressure-filled environment of world-class cookery and the restaurant business at the highest level. The series – hosted by Padma Lakshmi and presided by head judge Chef Tom Colicchio – features sixteen aspiring chefs who compete for their shot at culinary stardom and the chance to earn the prestigious title of "Top Chef." As Always you are on top of things. I hope that we get some excellent personel that will be willing and able to do the TOP CHEF. The Military has come along way and it is about time for someone to show off all of the skills they have learned along the way.

I know Top Chef gears towards young contestants. The casting director told me he doesn't care about age when it comes to a Military Chef (I'm not saying you're old MSG, just older than the typical Top Chef contestant). He thinks having a Military Chef, of any age, competeing with civilian chefs would be very interesting to the veiwers.

Thanks for the complement and yes I am a little old. I believe when they look for contestants they are usually a little younger and more caoloric frendly.
