So who's representing their service at the military cook-off during ACF's Western Regional Conference April 19-21? This should be an interesting event.

Story highlighting this upcoming event.

From another post:

Check out his email I recieved (Jump on this one while you can):

"Good Morning and Greetings from Utah,

Here is what we are looking at for the 2008 Western Regional Convention...Basically this is not going to be an ACF sanctioned competition. What we want is the best of the best from all 5 branches of the military to compete in an Iron Chef style competition at the ACF Western Regional. This contest will be in conjunction with an overall theme "Salute to the Military and Their Chefs". There will be some ACF competition opportunities going on at the same time (cold salon, etc.). We will invite and pay for a 2 person team from each branch to come and compete. I have cc'd Dave Prows, CEC AAC on this e-mail, he is the Convention Chair and I am the Military Liaison for the Convention. Please direct any question to myself or Chef Prows.

This event was out of control!!! Check here for more info:

The Pentagon Channel is doing a special on the event and I will be putting something together as well. Jason Talcott and his ACF friends did an amazing job putting this together.

They were more than successful in making Military Food Service look top notch.

More to come on this one..

All the credit goes to these amazing chefs. I was simply lucky enough to be able to invite my idols and heroes to Salt Lake to hang out, cook their butts off and have one of the best weekends of my life.

Thanks and heres to next year!

Jimmy, great job, I can't wait to see more. SFC Talcott did a hell of a job with this and he busted his butt to get it together. The Chefs' were out of control. This can only get bigger and better. We have to showcase and promote what the military chefs do. Nice TV job jason.

We need to have this on the deck of the Midway in September of next year with a tailgating cook off (allready planned) and some major sponsors. As soon as I get some production videos I can start pimping this event to potential sponsors, media and the public. I want everyone to know about our Freedom Chef competitors and raise a lot more money for the FIsher House. We need to get everyone signed onto this site.

Tell Jason to get me the footage so I can make you that video! If you are going to give the footage to someone else, please let me know so I can make a fan style vid with the footage I got from my handheld cam.

Dang.. that stinks. They forgot to turn on the DVD recorder for the last half of the event and the DVD quality is not so good. No worries. I'll put something good together. Big Grin
